In the SC-1600 series, the refraction distance can be pre-set between 2.5 and 6 meters* in 1 cm or 1 inch increments to fit exam rooms of any size. The chart image size adjusts automatically based on the selected distance to maintain a consistent visual angle. The same refraction distance can also be configured for mirrored examination rooms. (*Up to 7 m available for Type M.) To support patients who have undergone cataract or refractive surgery, the SC-1600Pola/1600 models offer contrast sensitivity testing at three levels below the normal threshold. The SC-1600Pola uses advanced polarization technology with a special LCD screen that allows binocular assessment in a traditional method, combined with a modern and elegant design. Single letters and horizontal or vertical chart lines are always centered on the screen. Characters in horizontal lines can be randomized to prevent memorization. The SC-1600 series can be operated with an optional remote control. Its ergonomic design ensures ease of use, and the large LCD screen displays ample information. The button layout is simple yet well-organized, providing intuitive operability.

Selectable refraction distance
The refraction distance can be pre-selected from 2.5 to 6 m* in 1 cm or 1 inch increments to fit any size of exam room. The chart image size can be reduced or enlarged corresponding to the refraction distance to keep the same visual angle. The same refraction distance is also adjustable to accommodate mirrored exam rooms.
*For type M, up to 7 m is possible.
